the loading bay

Friends of mine came to visit this weekend, the owners of Vovo Telo Bakery + Cafe in Port Elizabeth http://fourwallsdesign.blogspot.com/2007/10/vovo-telo.html, and we went coffee shop hopping! = ) One of the places on our list was the Loading Bay (also featured in the latest House & Leisure).
I really like the graphics, and just love the "Blue Blood" name, it's the range of denims sold inside. They also sell really nice watches, I would not mind acquiring one, allthough the face of the watch is probably the same size as my hand! = )
So in short... the interior is well designed, the graphics are well designed, the service is good, the cappuchino & expresso are good. And I really like the concentric circles on the expresso & the heart design on the cappuchino. So definately worth a visit... The Loading Bay 30 Hudson Street, De Waterkant, Cape Town.

I love the yellow to the underside of the light fittings, such a nice hue!

vovo telo

I went to visit some friends in Port Elizabeth this weekend, Matt & Mary. They have opened a bakery and coffee shoppe in one of the older parts, called Richmond Hill. Mary is also an architect, and together they transformed this little residence into a chic space with ambiance and a little stunning garden! (done by Matt's mom)

Matt owns & runs the shoppe, enjoying the bakery, but he is just passionate about his coffee...The breads, freshly baked every morning on the prmises, are divine, but sell out quite fast. The other pasteries are just as fabulous! I had a decadent chocolate croissant with an awesome cappuchino!

I just LOVE the old and new of the interiors - really chic with a rustic edge - I think the entire place has such a nice feel and atmosphere!

Thanks to Matt & Mary for saving this beautifull old residence and giving it a new lease on life! And I believe that this super building has become a catalyst for other owners in the area to upgrade and renovate. That's great hey! And somehow it is attracting many patrons who never frequented this area! CONGRATULATIONS guys!!!
