ses... on muller... in progress.....

Here is a sneak at the garden cottage that I designed for my folks in Bellville.

The interior is still in progress... My dad did all the joinery including the loft floor construction.

They are planning to rent out the cottage as self-catering accomodation - hopefully from December... 2007... Personally I think it turned out quite nice - and would love to live in the space... but that's just me! = )

Cranes for Construction

When I read Heather's comments on cranes on http://www.skinnylaminx.com/ I kept on thinking of all the cranes being used at the Green Point stadium construction site. So here is my little contribution on cranes and there aesthetic value. This photo was taken from my balcony. So I hope they will be painting waves on the side of the building - so I will still have a sea view! = )

Kultivaria

We went to Kultivaria in Paarl yesterday - and what a day! Good food, good company, EXCELLANT art... A good time was had by all! And of course when we arrived at Eccentric Trading on Main Road to view the Absolut Essence exhibition, I had to haul out my camera and take these pictures of this gorgeous installation. The festival is on until Monday - and really worth a visit!

flying pigs...

I thought these pigs were really sweet.

Bought them in a stunning little shop in Swakopmund, Namibia. The shop's name escapes me for the moment, but if you know Swakopmund, it is situated diagonally opposite the Brauhaus. The pigs are made of old oil tins, not only pretty but recycles as well!

Brilliant blocks!

These brilliant blocks are my latest art aquisition, and I am SO chauffed with them! I got them from HENNIE MEYER, my ceramics teacher. He is exhibiting a selection of blocks, an amazing installation of jugs, as well as two stunning illustrated ceramic wall panels at KULTIVARIA in Paarl, starting today and ending on Monday 24 September. It will definately be worth a visit and I will be checking it out on Saturday.

Bunnies galore...

I am currently creating a series of bunnies for an exhibition late November. I started these bunnies last year September, and somehow they have just multiplied. Allthough they started off in clay I am currently investigating casting them in bronze. So here is a preview of what my bunnies look like...
